Ian Austen-Jones
Managing Partner – Dispute Resolution, Family, Employment, Personal Injury
T: 020 8693 0900 | E: iaj@austenjonessolicitors.co.uk
Ian qualified as a solicitor in 1991. He then went on to work as a partner in a number of central-London law firms between 1994 and 2011, before branching out alone with the launch of his own firm, Austen Jones Solicitors, based in Dulwich in south-east London.
He has specialised in dispute resolution for the entirety of his career. Initially, this was in the area of personal injury, where the majority of his work involved acting for claimants in workplace accidents – usually at the behest of trade unions and always with an affinity for the underdog.
As part of his practice in later years, Ian has shifted his focus towards family and employment law, while also maintaining a large caseload of general commercial and property litigation.
He is often praised by his clients for his negotiation skills and technical ability which are reflected in his exceptionally high rate of success, both inside and outside the courtroom.
Ian alworks closely with all his clients – often working out of hours and at weekends – and brings his own particular brand of experience, commitment and enthusiasm to every case he deals with.
He is particularly good at turning legal terminology into plain English and finding cost-effective solutions to legal problems.
Outside of work Ian is a keen guitar player, plays harmonica in a Blues band, enjoys football (watching Chelsea with his sons and occasionally playing), attending art courses and spending time camping with his family and friends. And drinking in Franklins.
